On Easter Monday and Sundays, from 2 April to 3 June, Curiosi di Natura propose “Pleasures of the Carso – Spring 2018”: seven walks to experience the nature, the culture and the gastronomy of well-known and less well-known localities of the Carso around Trieste and Gorizia.
As you take in the spectacular seascapes, woods and cultivated areas, the local environment and ecology are illustrated by our Curiosi di Natura guides, together with live readings of poetry, literature, history and culture.
The excursions are all slow-paced, along mainly flat paths, and are suitable for persons of all ages and fitness levels, in normal physical condition.
Also, every day until June 3, participants will be able to taste typical dishes at local restaurants at a discounted price. On signing up for the excursion, in fact, each participant will receive a 10% discount coupon valid for two persons at the “Sapori del Carso” restaurants.

MONDAY 2 APRIL “From Aurisina to Prepotto” Among vineyards, rocks carved by the rain,
caves and fascinating karstic phenomena. With live readings.
Meeting venue: 9.10, main square of
Aurisina (San Rocco’s church). Bus n. 44.

SUNDAY 8 APRIL “From Trebiciano to Orlek” On the Carso plateau, across woods and fields to
reach the spectacular dolina of Orlek, surrounded by sheer rock face rising 100 metres above the
ground: a true natural monument.

SUNDAY 22 APRIL "From Devetachi to Nova Vas” On the Carso around Gorizia and in
Slovenia, through woods, farmlands, rural villages and remains of World War I. Live readings.
Meeting venue: 9.10, trattoria at Devetachi, State Road 55 (Strada del Vallone) to Gorizia (Doberdò del Lago).

SUNDAY 29 APRIL “The Riselce Trail” Across karstic grasslands and woods to one of the most
beautiful dolinas of the Trieste Carso, encircled by vertical walls rising 40 metres above ground.

SUNDAY 13 MAY “From Opicina to Mount Grisa” Through the woods, with extensive views of
Trieste and the sea, along one of the most-loved walks. Live readings.

SUNDAY 27 MAY “Above Val Rosandra” From Basovizza to Mount Stena, across woods and
karstic grasslands to enjoy spectacular views of the valley’s rock faces and the sea.
